Install / Flash HTC One V ICS ROM On Desire S And Desire HD [Tutorial]

The HTC One V – which is suspected to be releasing in black, purple and grey for those not partial to the Zune brown coloring demoed at MWC – is quite a similar smartphone to the preceding Desire S, so switching ROMs between each device would make more than a little sense.
XDA Developers forum member proxuser has created an Android 4.0.3 ROM harboring HTC Sense 4.0 for the Desire S, as well as the Desire HD. Since the One V is much newer and more powerful than the Desire devices, there could be a case for suggesting that the ROM may be rather unstable, unable to cope with the extra load, but proxuser has assured the Android community that this isn’t the case.

He even goes on to suggest that it is the fastest and most stable ROM for the devices, but despite the claims, the port doesn’t come without its issues. At this point in time, there are problems with the camera, Wi-Fi hotspot, and SD card mounting functions, but the developer is currently trying to work them out and get the ROMS working flawlessly.

Step 1: Download the flashable .zip file from the forum threads at the end of this post, and place it directly under /sdcard directory on your Desire S or Desire HD.
Step 2: Switch your device off.
Step 3: Press and hold the Volume Up + Power buttons until you get into ClockworkMod Recovery.
Step 4: Opt for a nandroid backup.
Step 5: From main menu, do a (wipe data/) factory reset, wipe cache partition and from advanced menu, wipe Dalvik cache.
Step 6: Once again, go back to main menu. Navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard and select the .zip file you transferred to your device in Step 1.
Step 7: After flashing is complete, choose reboot system now.
If you followed the steps correctly, you will now be running the HTC One V, Ice Cream Sandwich ROM on your HTC Desire S/HD.

Is this the Samsung Galaxy S III?

A doc surfaced yesterday that looked like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III, but today there’s a new image of the anticipated Android. Looks a bit more real, but still not certain of its truth. This image above was uploaded to Reddit from somebody who says “My friend works at Samsung, in a respectable position. He just sent me a picture of the galaxy s3″. For months the GS III has been rumoured to come with some impressive specs: OS 4.0, 4.8-inch 1080p display, 1.5Ghz quad-core processor, 8MP camera and a 2MP front-facing camera, NFC, LTE, 7mm thin and has a ceramic body.
The poster on Reddit stated that the GSIII will have a “4.7 inch screen that nearly takes up the whole phone”, have a “ceramic micro arc oxidation back” and also sport a “quad core exynos (spelling?) 4412. The screen is Super Amoled Plus with HD. The camera is a 12 megapixel with flash. 2 gigs of ram. And it is exactly 8 millimeters thick, and no bump this time around, just “smooth”. 2250 milla-amp/hour battery, but no wireless charging”.
Samsung is expected to officially announce the GS III sometime over the next few months.
